Whether your use is in agriculture, equestrian, forestry, orchard or vineyard this quality topper leads the field. The unique monocoque construction incorporates rigidity and strength without being too heavy. A special 5mm reinforced panel supports the mounting of the rotor gearbox, thus eliminating any cause for concern when operating in arduous conditions. In reality this means that a CUTLET 4 is capable of being operated on only a 10hp compact tractor.
The CUTLET range is manufactured in 1.21m (4ft), 1.52m (5ft) and 1.8m (6ft) working widths and are designed to operate with a high blade tip speed, which improves the quality of cut, together with improved work rate and is capable of cutting material up to 4cm, in diameter. The elimination of belts means that optimum cutting speed is maintained at all times.
Below the rotor gearbox is fitted a hub with an attached double leaf spring blade carrier and swinging tip blades. The gearbox is protected from damage by a shearbolt coupling on the power take off shaft.
The machine is suspended on side skids, which are height adjustable from 25mm to 150mm. Skids follow the contours of rough ground far easier than a rear wheel. A wire cable is fitted between the headstock and the rear of the topper, to allow the machine to fully float and maintains a constant height of cut. The monocoque construction is tapered at the rear to eliminate rowing up of the cut grass, thus giving a better spread, which is the actual requirement of a topper. Stone guards and additional safety features are fitted to ensure that the machine meets the latest legislation.
Brackets, which allow the topper to be offset by 30cm, are available as an option. This facility normally enables one tractor wheel to be out of work whilst working in tight areas, especially against fence lines, hedge bottoms and around trees.
